WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LIVE YOUR POETRY?

It’s something we’ve been exploring together  -- through conversations with poets, writing, listening, sharing, and asking what happens when the words move beyond the page and into the way we  live.

MAYBE THERE ISN'T ONE ANSWER.

Maybe it’s in what you write. Maybe it’s in how you live. What you notice. What you love. What you’ve carried, learned, let go of --  or who you are becoming. This anthology is another part of that exploration.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE PAGE?

We’re inviting one submission per person.

What you bring to the page is up to you.

A poem. A story. A reflection. Something that doesn’t quite fit a category.

Let LIVING YOUR POETRY land in its own way --  and share what comes.

(Maximum length: 2 pages total)

A LITTLE ABOUT YOU.

Please also include a short paragraph about yourself  (2-5 sentences - exactly as you‘d like it written) --  whatever you’d like to share. 

And -  please let me know how you would like your name credited and include your website and/or social contacts  if you would like it published with your work. 

(Maximum length: 2 pages total)

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED WORK.

Previously published work is welcome, as long as you have the right to give permission for it to be included in this anthology.

If your piece has been published elsewhere, please let me know where it was originally published and confirm that you have retained the necessary rights and/or received permission from the publisher for it to appear in LIVING YOUR POETRY.

Work that you have self-published or shared on your own website, blog or social media is welcome.

FOREWORD BY A.S. AUBREY.

I’m so happy to share that the Foreword will be written by Poet A.S. Aubrey (Anna). Her poetry, her way of listening, and the heart she brings to her work feel so beautifully aligned with the intention of LIVING YOUR POETRY. I’m deeply grateful to have her words help open the doorway into this collection. 

A FEW DETAILS.

As with most anthologies, we may not be able to include every submission, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and trust in the curating process.

There is no submission fee - and no financial compensation or royalties for inclusion in the anthology. 

This anthology is being created and offered as a shared creative contribution.

At launch, LIVING YOUR POETRY will be offered FREE in digital form, with the possibility of a print edition in 2027 as I begin exploring self-publishing.

You retain the copyright to your work. By submitting, you are giving permission for your selected work to be included in the free digital edition of LIVING YOUR POETRY and in a possible future for-sale print edition, as well as for limited use in promoting the anthology.

As mentioned above, there is no fee to submit to this anthology. And when it’s finished, the digital e-book will be offered FREE. 

So much of what happens here is offered freely -- the conversations, the poets, the workshops, the gatherings, the opportunity to show up exactly as we are.

I want to keep it that way as much as I can -- a place where we can continue to gather, create, connect, and nourish this wonderful virtual community together.

This space is offered from my heart, but it takes all of us to keep it going.
